Bought this product for geocaching. Haven't learned all the ins and outs of it yet. I really enjoy the ability to download directly from computer to GPS. In the field it has performed well, very accurate. I have nothing to compare it to.
Got this as a replacement for an older Garmin GEKO (which died last year). Greatly appreciate that they upgraded the things which needed upgrading - better battery life (now uses 2 - AA instead of those useless AAA), better sensitivity, and better screen.
We bought ours as a Christmas gift for our son. He likes to explore and thought he would have fun exploring our area.(finding creeks etc.) We didn't realize you had to get the detailed maps separately. When we looked into getting the maps, we found it would cost us $200 for a good detailed one.
