Bought card at Staples. Was not readily apparent how to use and then struggled to make way thru Garmin steps to download. Finally found right path.
This is my 2nd Garmin that has had issues now. The first one worked about a year, and it then one day it would not turn on. I am DONE with garmins now. I guess I'll try the other brand that starts with a T.
We have used the Garmin often since we got it and have found it very useful for finding locations (restaurants, points of interest, etc) near our destination or near our current location. Fairly user friendly.
Garmin nüvi 1300LM 4.3-Inch Portable GPS Navigator with Lifetime Map Updates We purchased our first Garmin nuvi 660 in 2007 for over $1000. We loved it! Sadly, its life ended far too soon (for the cost) and we had to replace it. After considerable research, we settled on the Garmin nuvi 1300LM.
The lifetime map update cost a little more but you get email notification when new updates are available so you won't forget about it. With so much road construction and businesses opening and closing routinely, it dosen't take long for your GPS to become outdated.

Short extract: I didn’t want to spend a lot of time searching through reviews and reading websites so I just tried to find a GPS that seemed most like the one I had rented. After looking at just a few models I decided that the Garmin Nuvi 1300LMT was most like the one I had used in Boston.

Short extract: Tweet The Garmin nüvi 1300 is a relatively low-end unit in a line of Garmin GPS navigators introduced in 2009 (here is a list of more recent nuvi introductions ), albeit one with a 4.3” widescreen. It comes pre-loaded with maps of the entire United States with the exception of Alaska.
