Do not buy this unit. Shuts down without warning. This is the 2nd Nuvi 1450 in a row with the same problem. This is an electrical problem, NOT a software or battery charge problem. The unit worked fine the first day.
I have had this gps a short period of time. I have a 330 which I have had for 6 years, but the battery needs replacing so I thought I'd just replace the unit. I notice that some of the maps are screwed up in the 1450.
Everything is going good so far. I bought this as this has a large screen than the one which I have been using (Nuvi 350). It would be much better had it been equipped with large and stable mount too, instead of cup mount.
I was hoping to use the route function more driving from Billings,MT to Phoenix, AZ on vacation, but I needed it so much in between (finding restaurants, sights etc) that it didn't work out. I really like the function that shows which lane to be in as well as the current speed limit.
It looks good in the pictures but it is REALLY sexy in real life! I am talking add 2 points to a geeky guy at 5 or 6 on the attractiveness scale. I recommend getting the friction pad for it, don't risk dropping your unit with the included window suction cup mount.
