We have a small den where we watch TV and this is the perfect screen size for that room. A bigger screen -- 55", etc. -- would have been too much. The HD picture is unbelievable and the built in speakers are acceptable but I've connected it to a 5.1 surround system.
The Bravia XBR46HX929 is simply amazing. Local Area Dimming generates outstanding color and blacks as dark as the bezel around the screen. Built in WiFi is great, navigation through the Home menu is very intuitive.
I paid $3,100 for it, then it went down to $2900 and now it is like $2600 today. I should have waited 2 weeks. Oh well you have to pay for being an early adopter. Have been playing with it for a couple of weeks now and everything I throw at it looks excellent.
The new XBR has everything. Excellent picture in all room lighting situations. It was a little expensive but I feel the old TV provided excellent service for 17 years, hope the quality in this one is just as good...
